With our 14E1D wheels we set the benchmark for pointed profile grinding wheels with which profiled grooving inserts, cutting inserts, profile cutter, dies and the like can be ground. They distinguish themselves with their cutting force, longevity, stable radiuses, nice surface finishes and steady quality.
We have 14E1D wheels on stock, but also manufacture a lot wheels according to the customers' specifications. On stock we have V30° wheels in the diameters ø 150 mm and ø 200 mm. With the combination of two grinding wheel from our stock, one with resin hybrid bond and D126 for roughing and one with metal bond with D64 for finishing, most grinding tasks where a pointed profile wheel is needed can be handled easily.
These are guide values for grinding carbide plates with 3 - 5 mm thickness on HAAS Multigrind machines with oil.
The following recommendations are for our wheel from stock with D126 and D64.
Dressing wheel: Soft ceramic wheel of medium structure and porosity (aluminium oxide/corundum with grit 120)
Bond regenerator: HACO-FLEX, „RGIH“ disc or „RSCE“ stick
1. Dressing the flanks
Pointed profile wheel turns with 4 m/s, dressing wheel with 26 m/s (concurrent rotation).
Infeed at the rear and grind the flanks back and forth.
Depth of cut with R159 D126: 0.05 - 0.1 mm (roughing), 0.02 - 0.05 mm (finishing)
Depth of cut with M4010 D64: 0.03 - 0.07 mm (roughing), 0.01 - 0.03 mm (finishing)
2. Regenerating the flanks
Pointed profile wheel turns with 26 m/s.
Press the HACO-FLEX regenerator (RGIH/RSCE) continuously by hand very lightly into the flanks from the side.
3. Dressing the radius
Pointed profile wheel turns with 4 m/s, dressing wheel with 26 m/s (concurrent rotation).
Infeed left and right.
Depth of cut: 0.01 - 0.02 mm (for R159 D126 as well as for M4010 D64)
4. Regenerating the radius
Pointed profile wheel turns with 26 m/s.
Press the HACO-FLEX regenerator (RGIH/RSCE) lightly by hand and only shortly, but continuously head-on.
With grit sizes smaller than D/BN 64 the infeed has to be reduced accordingly and finer dressing wheels have to be used. With very small grit sizes (≤ D/BN 26) the dressing wheel should only turn half as fast, i.e. with about 13 m/s.
